Heuristic strategies

Objectives:

  1. Learning to solve problems on their own by specific individual learning. Introducing general learning-psychological concepts for various explanations and descriptions of phenomenons in solving individual difficult tasks.
  2. Gaining an overview over various heuristic methods to support problem solving.
  3. Acquiring methods to "pass on" heuristics by introducing typical problem tasks like age, motion and miscellaneous problems to solve and analyze.

M

Introduction to the topic by a motivational example or a situation from class:

Learning to solve problems - why is this a useful objective of learning for all students?

T

Starting off the subject the deductive way.

Introducing the subject from a theoretical concept:

Learning to solve problems - how?

B

Starting off the subject the inductive way.

They are introduced to the topic by means of various sample tasks:

Learning to solve problems - how?

A

Typical class problem-solving-tasks from a heuristic point of view:

Examples of age problems, motion problems and miscellaneous problems.

K

At the end of this there is an examination of the success in learning with a few check-questions.
